Abutment
What is it? A support and retention device for a fixed or removable prosthesis. For example, this may be the natural tooth that is nearest the space left by a missing tooth when it has been crowned (or fitted with an inlay or onlay) and becomes one end of a fixed partial denture. An abutment is also a natural tooth to which the clasp of a partial denture is fitted.Added By: Alexis
